flat bread
This is going to become your go-to recipe this spring. A flat bread that you can fill with whatever you want, use to accompany hummus and curries and take on a picnic stuffed as a sandwich.
Ingredients
- 4 cups of flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 8 tablespoons of unsalted butter
- 250 ml of milk
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
To flavour:
- 1 1/2 teaspoons of your favorite herbs: dried basil, dried oregano, fresh chopped parsley, garlic powder...
- 1 tablespoon of salt
- a little more olive oil for brushing
In the bowl of a mixer, combine the flour, baking powder and salt.
In another bowl, mix the butter and milk and heat slightly in the microwave until the butter has melted.
Add the melted butter mixture to the bowl with the dry ingredients and with the help of the electric mixer we knead them until we obtain a smooth and elastic dough (we do not need to add a little more flour).
Cover the dough with a clean kitchen towel and let it rest for 10 minutes.
Divide the dough into 8 equal parts. Stretch each piece with the help of a rolling pin until it is thin.
Heat ½ tablespoon of olive oil in an Efficient Pro skillet over medium-low heat. We put a stretched dough in the pan and cook a minute and a half on each side. The bread is done when they have golden brown spots on both sides.
We cover it with a clean cloth while we finish making the rest of the bread and serve with avocado, tomatoes, a little cheese or sausage and of course we can serve it with hummus.
